What the houseis actually like.
Rather than a vague promise that we're accessible, here is a specific description of the property — the parts that work well and the parts we haven't measured — so you can decide for yourself whether Palm & Tide suits you before you book.
Arriving and getting inside
- Every exterior door has a step-free entry — there are no steps up into the house at any entrance.
- Parking is a private driveway. The path from the driveway to the door is paved and flat, with no steps or ramp.
Moving through the house
- The home is single-level. There are no interior stairs anywhere in the house.
- There are no raised thresholds or level changes between rooms, including at the bathrooms and the doors to the lanai.
Bathrooms
- The primary bathroom has a walk-in shower with built-in seating.
- The second bathroom has a combined tub and shower fitted with a grab rail.
Pool and outdoor areas
- The pool has a guardrail at the shallow-end entry to steady you on the way in and out.
- The lanai and pool deck are reached at floor level, with no step down from the house.
Safety
- Every bedroom in the house has an egress window, so each sleeping room has a direct way out in an emergency.
We're a no-pet home. Service animals are welcome.
Those are two different things. Palm & Tide doesn't host pets, but a service animal isn't a pet — a dog individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability is welcome here, and no pet fee or deposit applies. Letting us know ahead of your stay is helpful but never required.
The honest gaps.
We'd rather tell you what we don't know than let you find out on arrival. We haven't verified the following, and the house has not been assessed against the ADA Standards for Accessible Design:
- Clear doorway widths, including the bathroom doors
- Whether the walk-in shower is fully level with the floor or has a low curb
- Turning space inside the bathrooms
- Bed, sofa, and toilet heights
- Whether the pool has step-free or lift-assisted entry — the shallow end has a guardrail, but no pool lift is installed
If any of these would decide your stay, email us and we will go measure it and send you photographs. We would much rather spend ten minutes with a tape measure than have you arrive to something that doesn't work.
